Parenting Support

Parenting may be one of the most difficult and time-consuming aspects of a person’s life. Parents are generally responsible for helping their children develop life skills, social skills, and appropriate behaviors, while accounting for their unique personalities. Parenting may become even more difficult when a child exhibits signs of a behavioral challenge or mental illness. It may be especially challenging to cope when a child who requires treatment or other care is not the only child in the home, as parents in this situation may struggle to give all children equal amounts of attention. This may lead some parents to experience guilt, along with greater levels of stress. Parents are the most influential people in a child’s life, even after the child becomes an adult. Establishing early on the tools and techniques needed to play that very important role can set you up for a lifetime of success to help you and your children thrive.

Divorce and Remarriage

It’s a fact of life that not all marriages succeed. The end of a marriage can be a relief to some, but can be extremely stressful to others. Even the partner who chooses to leave may experience a wide range of emotions and intense feelings. Some of the feelings associated with divorce include: grief, guilt, anger, confusion, fear, shame, and anxiety. People often seek therapy for help in deciding whether to stay in a marriage or to leave, while others may seek counseling for help through the transition from being married to being single again. Both of these goals can be addressed in individual or couples therapy.


What you need to know about depression is that sadness is only a small part of this illness. In fact, some people with depression may not feel sadness at all. Depression has many other symptoms, some which may manifest physically. These symptoms may include:

  • Persistent sad, anxious or “empty” mood
